Everybody's got a little Captain in them.

Haven't posted in a while becasue I couldn't get on google and a few other websites (including blogger, who is owned by google). Sorry for all you millions of people who read this everyday when you wake up and then again before you go to sleep. Anyway, I volunteered at Epworth's Children's Carnival. Epworth is a children's home, and they put on a small Halloween carnival each year. I helped at one of the games. Kids kept asking if I was a real pirate. I thought that it was obvious that I was. I also had some problems getting this picture on my computer. Here is what happened when I plugged my computer in.

Oh, well. All is well now. Time to read Dr. Faustus.

Feels so good.

The best feeling ever is realizing that a project you thought was due tomorrow is actually due in three days. Now, here is a picture of a bum in my French book.

The girl "works with the homeless."

Is it considered assisted suicide if you light somebody's cigarette?

Better than I thought.

I had a logic test on Tuesday that I thought I bombed. I made an 83. Whenever I think I did terrible on something I seem to do well but, unfortunately, vice-versa as well. This is the second test in Logic of two. Both are 25% of our grade. Made an 89 on the first. The final is 50%, and, whatever you make on it, you cannot make lower than that on your class average. I had a Theatre History and an English Drama midterm yesterday. Not sure how I did. I'd rather not think about it. No more midterms for this semester. I've got exit exams in French coming up. I have to prove I have "basic proficiency" in French. No worries there. Until next time, au revoir.

Ouch.

Is it possible to pull an ab muscle? I'm not sure how, but I think I did.

Help

On Monday, outside the building that I have my 9:05 A.M. French class, a girl had a seizure. It was right after class, and there was a small used-book sale outside. I had just bought Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and The Poems of Chaucer. I heard a person yell "Somebody call 911!" Through the miracle of cellphones, 3 or 4 people called. She ended up alright. Nothing too serious. Luckily the was a guy there whose girlfriend has a history of seizures and knew what to do. Also, we were right next to the Nursing building, and someone got a nurse professor from there.
I went over right after the guy yelled for help, but I wasn't needed. It got me thinking, though, that if I needed to, I probably wouldn't be able to help. I decided that I am going to find a first-aid class and get CPR certification (yes, I know CPR is not the correct response for a seizure) so that it would be legal for me to help. I think everyone else should do the same. If it had been something more serious, like a heart-attack, that person would have been in a lot of trouble. It took the paramedics a long while to arrive. I don't want to stand by helplessly next time something like that happens.

Polyphasic Sleep

This guy is experimenting with the Uberman sleep cycle, a sleep schedule in which you take 20-30 minute naps every four hours instead of one 8 hour or so sleep. He is blogging his progress. It is pretty interesting. I'm eager to know if it works or if he crashes.

Yes, master.

Video games officially own my life. I just bought Sid Meier's Pirates! It is one of the most enjoyable games that I have played in a long while. Ninja Gaiden was fun but very frustrating. This is pure, simple fun. The hours just disappear when playing it. The past couple of nights I have been up playing DotA on Warcraft III with my friends in Texas. I started a new game of Mario RPG on my modded Xbox. That is a quality game right there. I will probably fail my three midterms I have this week, but I don't really care anymore.

What's that? Yes, master. I am coming. Alright, gtg.

It is done.

I beat Ninja Gaiden Black's main game last night. It was grueling and made me want to cry, but I did it. I celebrated by dressing up as a ninja. Now on to the mission mode.

P.S. Pirates are still cooler.

Uhh.. what?

I use my ipod everyday when walking to my classes. A few days ago I decided to give my ears a break. Big mistake. Besides providing music or podcasts to listen to, the ipod and my Sony earbuds block out most sound. That includes stupid people. Sometimes you hear something that you just cannot comprehend. I heard a girl say something along these lines:

"You know when there are two doors, and a bunch of people are coming out of one side, and someone stands there waiting for them to finish coming out instead of opening the other door? I hate that. They're lazy. That's why there are so many fat people."

Now, in general, I can detect sarcasm. I detected no sarcasm. Is it truly possible that this girl thought that opening a door will make you thin? No wonder I lost ten pounds last year. I must be opening too many doors.

No... more... cobbler...

Gibbes Court: the cafeteria in the dorm next to mine. They serve cobbler everyday. At first it was just peach and apple. People grew sick of just two flavors. They added cherry, and the peasants rejoiced. Recently they added raspberry (as shown). Apparently a different kind of desert is too crazy of an idea. Brownies? Cookies? Not with the meal plan. Want cake? Be prepared to pay extra. You'll eat cobbler and you'll like it.

I get it almost everyday. Sometimes twice a day. Everytime I go, I pray that they won't serve it. When I see it, though, I have to get it. I have no control. It's like crack. I see it. I eat it. Then, I curl up in a ball and cry.

The Beginning of the End

I started a blog. May God have mercy on my soul.
