Help

On Monday, outside the building that I have my 9:05 A.M. French class, a girl had a seizure. It was right after class, and there was a small used-book sale outside. I had just bought Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and The Poems of Chaucer. I heard a person yell "Somebody call 911!" Through the miracle of cellphones, 3 or 4 people called. She ended up alright. Nothing too serious. Luckily the was a guy there whose girlfriend has a history of seizures and knew what to do. Also, we were right next to the Nursing building, and someone got a nurse professor from there.
I went over right after the guy yelled for help, but I wasn't needed. It got me thinking, though, that if I needed to, I probably wouldn't be able to help. I decided that I am going to find a first-aid class and get CPR certification (yes, I know CPR is not the correct response for a seizure) so that it would be legal for me to help. I think everyone else should do the same. If it had been something more serious, like a heart-attack, that person would have been in a lot of trouble. It took the paramedics a long while to arrive. I don't want to stand by helplessly next time something like that happens.
